Second-hand clothing for Kids- What a great idea!!

We all know that clothing can be very expensive even for children. The better the brand; the more you will pay. It sometimes feels like as soon as your children fit into their clothes, they are growing out of them. Clothes are needed for school, play, church, special holidays and occasions and so much more!! Clothing expenses take a lot out of a monthly budget. You do not have to pay full price for clothing anymore. Shopping malls and large retail stores are no longer the only places available.

~Passing down clothes from one child to the next is a life saver. From the first one to the second and third until the clothes are worn out. If clothes are taken care of, they can often last for a very long time. Special outfits can be stored and used over and over again. Make sure to save what you can. Whatever looks the best, save it for the next child.

~Buying children’s clothes at thrift stores, second-hand shops and gently used stores (either in person or on line) are a great place to find good clothes and at a good price. In major retail stores you may pay $35 for a good pair of jeans. At a second-hand shop the same pair of jeans that have been gently worn, you can buy for less than $5. What a tremendous savings. You can buy more for your money and for more children at one time.

Going to the stores, you can actually hand pick and have a close look at what you are buying. On-line you can also buy the same clothes without having the hassles of shopping. Most online shops will be very honest with you and give you a good description of the condition of each item you are interested in.

When you buy second-hand, you can make the clothing look good as new. A good washing and treating is sometimes all that it takes. When shopping, make sure to inspect out the clothing throughout either in person or the description on-line. Make sure there are no holes that can not be patched or stains that will not come out.

These ideas will save you a lot of time and money when it comes to clothing for children. Do some research in your area and online to find the best deals. Once you start shopping this way, you will never stop.
